Our talented artists are available to provide henna, face painting, glitter tattoos, and hand painted temporary tattoos at your next event or for private appointments. We also offer bridal henna/mehndi packages as well as workshops and age appropriate programming for schools and libraries.

Jen Schafer Began learning about henna while working in the children's department at the Wood County District Public Library in Bowling Green Oh in the late 90's. She was offered the opportunity to teach teens at the library about what she'd learned. Later she went on to present her henna related programing ideas at a conference of librarians from all over Northwestern OH, and encouraged them to offer such programing at their own libraries. They didn't. They hired her instead! Slowly over the next few years Jen began to spend more time as a henna artist than as a librarian and she officially began Body Art by Jen, the first incarnation of her henna business, in 2001.

After a few years Jen had more job offers than time. She taught her long time friend and fellow artist how to mix henna and create beautiful designs of her own. She picked it up right away and the two were off and running. Now Danya handles many jobs like parties, private appointment, and events in the Toledo area as an independent artist too. It was at about this time that the name of the business was changed to Henna Muse.

After spending time with Deborah Brommer of Desdemona's Designs in Columbus Ohio, Jen was exposed to limitless art of face and body painting. She found the art to be an amazing outlet for creativity and after about 2 years of study and practice added that to the services that Henna Muse can offer its clients.

Over the last Decade Jen has taught at henna and body art courses, conferences, and workshops all over the country. She has had her work featured on the Mehandi.com website, The HennaPage annual calendar, The Fort Wayne New Sentinel, The Bowling Green Sentinel Tribune, and LoveToKnow.com.
