Educational opportunities are our specialty! Ask about custom programming.
Henna Muse specializes in providing educational opportunities to schools, libraries, clubs, and other organizations. Owner and lead artist, Jen, worked 7 years as a children's librarian and 5 years as a k-6 tutor. We know how to work with children and keep them engaged. We also know how to work with their teachers, librarians, or scout leaders to create the perfect programing for any age group. We can even create custom designs to fit your theme, or adapt our programs to better fit your curriculum. We offer workshops, presentations and hands on experiences for adults too!
Henna workshops and programming are great for any group of people over 7 years old. These programs can be used to support many curriculum topics including geography, culture, science, and of course art.
Face painting can be a highlight of your next fundraiser, or provided to your students as a reward. For younger audiences face painting can be used to reinforce classroom topics such as colors, animals, community helpers, and more.
Reduced Rates!
Many libraries, public schools, and scouting organizations are elegible for reduced rates. We also offer bulk pricing on educational programing. Institutions that book for a number of branches or locations may be elegible for even deeper discounts! Please use the form below to request pricing information for your individual needs and circumstances. Please include useful information such as city, and age of participants.
Unfortunately we cannot offer free services for charitable events at this time. We receive daily requests, and simply can't keep up with them. Sometimes we are able to offer gift certificates or henna kits to charitable organizations for use as auction or raffle items or for use as donation incentives.
While we'd be happy to come and simply apply a henna design to each student, scout or patron, we most prefer to offer some educational and hands on opportunity as well. Most often henna programing falls into one of the two categories below. Both can be adapted to fit any curriculum or age group.
One Hour Programs:
A brief discussion about henna, where it comes from, and how it works, followed by an opportunity to have a henna design applied by one of our artists. Students will have a chance to doodle with a henna applicator on paper while they wait their turn. This program can accommodate up to 25 students, but its best suited to groups of 15 or less.
Two Hour Programs:
This program is similar to the above but also includes demonstration of how to mix henna paste and fill applicators. Much more time is available for hands on learning with instructor supervision. Brave teens and adults may even try to henna themselves or a friend! This program can accommodate 30 people.
